Light is exciting, energetic, mesmerising.

Light can travel through nothing, it is referred to as photons and each is measured in hn. It is the portion of electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye.

The visible light spectrum is 400-700nm. Red is 700nm and has long wave lengths. Blue is 400nm and has short wave lengths. Each colour has a different wavelength. When all the waves are seen together, they make white light. When white light shines through a prism, the white light is dispersed  into the colours of the visible light spectrum. Blue waves lengths bend more as the waves are shorter and have more energy. Water vapor in the atmosphere can also break apart wavelengths creating a rainbow. Red light waves don’t penetrate deeply in the water as the wave lengths are longer and has lower energy. Ultraviolet have very short wave lengths and penetrates deeper than blue.
